the day you find out you
need to have surgery”

MY STORY
Hi! I’m Heather. I’m a Motivational Health + Wellness Coach and Surgery Recovery Expert.
For the past 20 years, I’ve been a motivational coach, specializing in health and wellness. I am a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor. I am the creator of a boutique fitness company called Sweat Sessions and I’ve made teaching others how to be strong, motivated, and healthy - a way of life.
I’ve had a big career. I’ve led yoga + and fitness retreats around the world. Even opened yoga studios in China. I’ve been on the cover of books and in large publication magazines. I am proud to say that I’ve been a motivational coach to hundreds of women who were looking to up-level and improve their lives. Now, I’m now using those same skills, strategies, and methods to teach thousands of people how to heal from orthopedic surgery.
What qualifies me as a Surgery Recovery Expert?
The answer. I’ve had a lot of surgeries.
No matter how healthy and happy you are, shit happens. Unfortunately for me, it happened quite a few times.
In a span of 2 years, I had four surgeries. FOUR! A hysterectomy and three major orthopedic surgeries.
I’ve had a total of four orthopedic surgeries in my life. Three ankle surgeries. One knee. Within those four surgeries, I’ve had two ankle reconstructions, a distal tibial osteotomy (where they saw your shin bone in half, add a cadaver bone, then realign the tibial and secure the bones together with four screws and a plate.) I had micro-fracturing, a heel + talus bone-spurs removed, subchondral cyst removal, BMAC, along with a meniscus root repair. As with all things in my life, none of these surgeries were easy surgeries. They were all major and complex. And…. I’ve even broken that same ankle - twice.
I had remarkable recoveries each and every time I had surgery because I applied the same principles, strategies, and methods that I teach in my health + wellness coaching programs to each of my surgeries.
My recoveries superseded the expectations of my surgeons and physical therapists simply because I was proactive in my recovery methods and healing approach. I have over 20 years of industry knowledge and thousands of tips and tricks when it comes to optimizing our health and our bodies and I applied all that wisdom + knowledge to my own surgery recoveries.
During this crazy time of back-to-back surgeries, I researched, studied, and learned everything I could in regards to pre and post-op orthopedic surgery recovery success.
I became an expert in what to do and what not to do when it comes to surgeries, dealing with doctors, choosing a physical therapist, doing pre-hab and most importantly post-rehab, and all the shortcuts that lead to faster healing, along with the tips and tricks that create a faster and more successful recovery.
I now teach orthopedic surgery patients along with physical therapists around the world my surgery recovery methods. Surgeons and therapists are now teaching my strategies and methods to their patients and some are even requiring their patients to read Surgery Coach before their orthopedic procedures.
Surgery can scary, painful, overwhelming, and hard. I’m so sorry you’re going through it.
However, I am thrilled that you found me. It’s my mission to help make your recovery easier, faster and smarter. I am so excited to share my wisdom and strategies with YOU.
